| Led by the unforgettable voice of Ffion Haf, supported by rich harmonies on twin fiddles, and driven by guitar, bouzouki, and mandola, and featuring former Fernhill member Cass Meurig, North Wales band Pigyn Clust bring a fresh approach to traditional material. Combining old songs and dance tunes with original compositions, their second CD "Perllan" (Fflach: tradd 2002) produced by Ceri Rhys Matthews was hailed as 'juicy and impressive', and established them among the finest interpreters of Welsh traditional music. Their NEW CD 'Enaid' again produced by Ceri Rhys Matthews, was released by Fflach Records in December, and features songs from the plygain carol tradition and the ancient sound of the crwth alongside old and new tunes. |
